Why Product Quality Inspection Matters in Dropshipping
Dropship Returns
30% of returns in dropshipping are caused by poor product quality.
Refund Rates
One inspection can reduce refund rates by up to 70%.
What We Check in Every Pre-Shipment Inspection
Appearance and Material Check
We examine every unit for surface defects, colour deviation from the approved sample, stitching and seam quality, scratches, and material consistency. Defects are classified as critical, major, or minor, so you know whether a batch has a cosmetic issue or a problem that will generate refund requests.
Functionality Testing
Electronics are powered on. Moving parts are cycled. Zips, clasps, switches, and hinges are operated. Battery items are charge-tested. We test against the standard you approve at the sample stage, across an agreed sample size rather than a spot check, and we record the pass rate for each batch.
Packaging and Label Verification
We confirm packaging matches the approved design, labels are correctly placed and legible, barcodes scan on the first pass, and any country-specific compliance marking - CE, FCC, RoHS, or CPSIA- is present and accurate. Wrong-market labelling is the most expensive error to catch late.
Quantity and Weight Verification
Every batch is counted against the purchase order and weighed against expected unit weight. A discrepancy in either usually indicates a substitution or a short-ship from the factory, and we resolve it with the supplier before the goods move into fulfillment.
Brand Consistency and Logo Check
Logo placement, print colour, size, and orientation are checked against your brand guidelines on every unit and every piece of packaging. We caught a fully mis-printed logo run for a European client at this stage, the rework was paid by the factory, and the launch date was held.
How Our Quality Inspection Process Works
Goods Received from Supplier
Once goods arrive at our facility, we log quantities, inspect packaging condition, and register each batch to ensure it matches the confirmed order details.
Product Appearance and Function Test
We check product appearance, materials, and core functions based on agreed standards, identifying visible defects or performance issues before fulfillment begins.
Packaging and Label Verification
Our team verifies packaging accuracy, label placement, barcodes, and branding details to ensure consistency with approved samples and compliance requirements.
Issue Report with Photo and Video Proof
Any issues found are documented with photos or videos and compiled into a clear inspection report, allowing fast decisions before orders move forward.
Confirmation, Storage or Return
Based on your confirmation, approved goods are stored for fulfillment, while non-compliant items are returned, replaced, or reworked per agreed instructions.
What You Receive in Every Inspection Report
Every inspected batch produces a written report delivered within 24 hours of inspection, covering the checkpoints tested, the sample size used, the pass and fail count, and any defects found with their classification.
